Post subject: Drive not showing up.
Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

Hi,

I used to have the following drives on my system:

A: Drive
C: Drive (main hard drive)
D: CD/DVD ROM
E: CD/DVD ROM
F: Removable hard drive for back ups.

The tray on Drive E started to open and close sparodically all on it's own
so I had to remove it.

Since then Drive F is not appearing when I open My Computer or Explorer.

Any advice on how to find it again? I've not done a back up for a couple of
months because of this and I'm starting to get nervous!.

Thanks in advance,

Sonars UK

Is F: appearing in the BIOS? Did you change the location on
the IDE cable when you removed the other drive? How were the
drives strapped? Cable select or master/slave?
