Post subject: Help: Digital camcorder vs XP using firewire

What should I do to make my PC feel my camcorder, using a firewire conection
between them?
I connected them but no signal of life.
Can anyone help me, please?

I think you need Service Pack 1 installed for Firewire in XP.

Ensure the camcorder is powered on and in VCR mode. Unless you network via
firewire, also ensure that the 1394 Net Adapter is disabled in the Device
Manager.

No you don't, I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 7 with
a firewire connection to a Sony TRV-16E without
SP1 installed.
