Can you only have one active partition per drive (boot sequence dependant on
BIOS settings) or one per PC?

I have RAID 0 copied onto a new 80 Gb drive that I want to test to make sure
it boots OK. If I set the active partition on the 80Gb drive as active, will
it take active 'off' the RAID? Or can I swap between the RAID and the IDE
each having an active partition, the actual boot drive being dependent on
the sequence I set?

Did I make that too confusing??

You can have one active partition per drive. A hardware RAID array will appear to the system BIOS as a single drive.

You can't use a partition as both an independent logical drive and part of a RAID drive.
