Post subject: USB DSL modem?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

I've been a bellsouth DSL customer since they started offering it in my
area 4 years ago. I still have the original Alcatel USB modem that came
with the service. I would like to setup a wireless network at home but
all the routers seem to be ethernet. Bellsouth wants $150 for a new
ethernet DSL modem. Is there any unit that is DSL modem and router in
one? I've heard of a USB to ethernet converter but can't find it at
CompUSA or Best Buy. Any help here will be appreciated.

Netgear has one;

As does D-Link;

Both seem to feature Ethernet and USB inputs.

You could always save the initial cost of a router and use ICS built into
windows. It does mean that the connected pc has to be left on though .....
